What is BS EN 62196 Type 2?

BS EN 62196 Type 2, also known as IEC 62196 Type 2, is a standard for electric vehicle charging connectors. It specifies the physical dimensions, electrical performance, and safety requirements for charging systems used in Europe. This standard has gained popularity due to its compatibility with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging.

Physical Dimensions

The BS EN 62196 Type 2 connector consists of seven pins arranged in a circular pattern.
