What is the difference between UL rating and ETL rating ?

The UL (Underwriters Laboratories) rating is a certification mark given by a global testing and certification organization. It is widely recognized and trusted in the industry to ensure that a product meets safety requirements. The UL rating is based on extensive testing and evaluation of a product's performance and safety.

On the other hand, the ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories) rating is a certification mark given by Intertek, a globally recognized testing and certification organization. It is also similar to the UL rating in terms of ensuring that a product meets safety requirements. However, unlike the UL rating, the ETL rating is not based on extensive testing and evaluation of a product's performance and safety. Instead, it is based on the testing and evaluation of a product's electrical characteristics.

In summary, both UL and ETL ratings serve the same purpose of ensuring product safety, but they differ in their certification processes and the testing and evaluation that they are based on. It is important to note that while both ratings are recognized and trusted in the industry, the ETL rating is not as widely accepted as the UL rating.
