Il controllo della distanza tra la superficie frontale ed il punto di primo contatto con gli alveoli deve essere effettuato introducendo nei fori degli alveoli attivi lo spinotto corto e successivamente lo spinotto lungo.

Nel primo caso il calibro non deve toccare l’alveolo atttivo, nel secondo caso il calibro deve toccare l’alveolo attivo.
